Can I gain weight when drinking soy protein shakes and not exercising?

Question by Suki M: Can I gain weight when drinking soy protein shakes and not exercising?
I'm trying to lose weight and currently taking soy protein shakes in the morning and before my workout. On the days that I don't exercise is it safe to take shakes or should I only take them on the days I work out?
